PAUL’S PORKY-PER-POUND PLEDGE PROGRAM
Have you ever seen The Biggest Loser? What about an Episcopal Biggest Loser that benefits the music ministry at All Saints? Paul Greatbatch is offering a challenge to any old and new and future friends of All Saints in the coming months. On April 26 he weighed in under the watchful eye of Father Dan Billman, his weight measured to the tenth of a pound. The weight was written down and that paper has been hermetically sealed in a lead-lined container within the Diocesan archives and will be reopened on Sunday, November 7, when Paul will again weigh in at the coffee hour.
The challenge is simple: make your pledge on a per-pound basis.
For example, if you choose to pledge $1 per pound and Paul loses 40 lbs., you would write a check to All Saints on or about November 7 for $40 to benefit the music ministry. (It has been suggested that you pledge $1.79 a pound since that is the going price of ham! Or $5 a pound for Heavenly Ham.)
As an added incentive, if more than 60 people pledge, you’ll be eligible to win a new Apple iPad.
That’s right. If more than 60 people pledge, the person who guesses the closest number of pounds Paul loses to the tenth of a pound without going over will win one of the hottest products on the planet right now!
In the event of any ties, the matching names will be tossed in a hat and the winner pulled by a randomly chosen representative from the congregation. You need not be present to win.
You can make your pledge online at: http://www.allsaintsindy.org/stewardship/porkypledge.php.
You can set your own goals and follow along right here.
Paul loses. All Saints wins! Come join in the fun for a great cause!
